Barcelona's Pursuit of Lionel Messi Falters as Return to Camp Nou Appears Unlikely

Barcelona faces a challenging summer as their pursuit of Lionel Messi appears to be slipping away. The club had prioritized the return of the Argentine international, but it seems increasingly unlikely that he will come back to Camp Nou.

According to journalist Marcelo Bechler, Barcelona's pursuit of Messi is already over. Bechler, known for breaking the news of Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and revealing Messi's desire to leave the club in 2020, suggests that the chances of Messi returning to Barcelona this summer are slim.

Another journalist, Cesar Luis Merlo, reports that Inter Miami is also interested in signing Messi. The MLS team has allegedly made a formal offer to the player, believing that he will not join Barcelona.

While Messi is said to be waiting for confirmation from La Liga before considering Barcelona's official proposal, he has received offers from Saudi Arabia, including one from Al-Hilal, who are willing to spend a substantial sum for the 35-year-old.

Merlo suggests that a resolution regarding Messi's future could be reached in the next few days, which does not bode well for Barcelona. The club needs time to facilitate departures and generate fresh revenue before they can officially pursue Messi. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining how the situation unfolds.
