Alexis Mac Allister Set to Join Liverpool in Blockbuster Deal After Breakthrough
Alexis Mac Allister is set to make a move to Liverpool from Brighton this summer, according to sources. After a breakthrough in talks, the Merseyside club has secured a personal agreement with the 24-year-old midfielder. They are now in the process of finalizing a transfer fee of around £60 million with Brighton.
Mac Allister has made the decision to join Anfield and bid an emotional farewell to Brighton fans following their Premier League clash with Aston Villa last Sunday.
It is believed that Liverpool has met with Mac Allister's representatives and agreed on a contract worth over £150,000 per week. Currently, the Argentina international earns a reported £50,000 per week on a deal that runs until June 2025.
A reliable source within Liverpool has indicated that the transfer is now "99% done" and only formalities remain. The announcement of the deal is expected in early June.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has openly acknowledged Mac Allister's impending departure, with the player's representatives having laid the groundwork for the deal over the past few months. Mac Allister has played a crucial role in Brighton's historic qualification for European competition.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has authorized a significant investment as part of his plans to overhaul the midfield following a disappointing campaign. The departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have already been confirmed, while senior players Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Thiago Alcantara are all over the age of 29
